Oh hi.
You may have noticed that I’ve been scarce around WP lately and that I seemingly abandoned my other blog, Belichick’s Kids. Well… you’re right. I decided keeping a Patriots blog starting in Week 9 was lame and that I’d just start again next season. As for this one, can I use the “not enough time” excuse? I can? Nice.
I also made a conscious decision not to write in-depth about the Mitchell Report. I did this because it was more or less a huge let-down, full of names anyone could have told you or people you really don’t care about (Nook Logan? Greg Zaun? Jeremy Giambi? What?) The only good thing to come from it was the extensive list of Yankees on the list and the lack of any important Red Sox, sans 1995 MVP Mo Vaughn. It should be noted that Vaughn purchased the drugs in 2001, his last year in Anaheim before going to New York to play for the Mets.
To recap, the list of Yankees includes:
Roger Clemens (no doubt in my mind)
Andy Pettitte
Kevin Brown
Alex Rodriguez
Chuck Knoblauch
David Justice
Jason Giambi
Mike Stanton
Jason Grimsley
Glenallen Hill
Denny Neagle
Ron Villone (hahahahahahaha)
Todd Williams (used in the Minors while in the Yankees’ farm system)
And there may be more that I missed. Point is, how many of those guys play on World Series teams:? How many Red Sox were using ‘roids on their WS teams? Two. Gagne and Donnelly. Prove to me that they had any sort of positive effect on the team.
Finally, the Hot Stove. First of all, keep Jacoby. That looks like it’ll happen. Second, don’t mortgage the team for Santana. He’s getting older (turns 30 in 2008), he’s a lefty in Fenway (usually spells bad news), and he’s expensive. The Sox will do better to rely on their homegrown talent to take them to glory, just as they did in ‘07.
Well, until something earth-shattering happens in the world of Red Sox baseball, goodnight now.
P.S. – Hank Steinbrenner is an idiot to keep opening his mouth like he has been.

Actually both Red Sox players named on the list were not Red Sox players when they are accused of using steroids. Gagne in 04 and Donnely in Anaheim.
Oh by the way did you hear the new rumor? Apparently Kevin Kennedy was on the radio and he says he knows someone that saw a Red Sox player not on the team inject steroids. Yankee fans don’t realize the guy is probably on their team.lol

Ah, look it’s the two of you counting down the days. About time. hahaha. FDA’s been watching paint dry and haning out in virtual waiting rooms— where have you been, Rob??
How’s life over on the other coast? All is well here in CA, thogh a tad bit chilly recently. No real complaints. You back at school?
Can’t wait for the 2008 recaps— just remember: DO NOT MAKE ANY MORE BETS that could land you in Angel fan land, eh?

Oh Jenn, I’ve been around. Mostly watching the C’s lose to bad teams but beat the Mavericks (???) and cursing the cold weather and freezing rain that is preventing me from riding my bike to class. And yes, I promise no more silly bets. Not even if I get all pissed off at the “scene” fans again (I liked writing that post, though). Speaking of posts, I just dropped another one, so check it out. Hope it doesn’t suck!
